Click on a file to download. Save the file to a temporary location on your hard disk. After the download is complete, use Windows Explorer to find the file and double click on it to unzip. Choose a location to unzip to, then, when the file has unzipped, find the unzipped file, and double click the icon with the filename.exe to install (where filename is the name of the downloaded file).
Software Service Packs
Service Packs contain fixes for known bugs. The 'readme' file associated with each Service Pack describes what fixes are included. Service Packs contain no new features. In order for a Service Pack to install, the product's directory structure must be intact and the directories must contain the files originally installed by the product. If a Service Pack installation fails due to directory or file changes made by a user, the product will have to be uninstalled, re-installed and the Service Pack will have to be re-applied.
Service packs are cumulative, meaning service pack 2 will contain service pack 2 changes plus all changes in service pack 1. Service pack 3 will contain service pack 3 changes plus all changes in service pack 2 and service pack 1.

After installing a service pack under Windows Vista, you may get a warning message from the Program compatibility Assistant: This program may not have installed correctly...
You will be given 2 choices: "Reinstall using recommended settings" and "This program installed correctly". Choose: "This program installed correctly".
